INFO: AVR application that uses ADO and accessing an OLE-DB Compliant Database to run on WindowsThe information in this article applies to:
SUMMARY:The information will discuss on what are the requirements when using AVR and OLE-DB Compliant Database. For example: You have an AVR application that needs to have access to a Microsoft Access database. You would use ADO (Access Data Objects). MORE INFORMATION:NOTE: Please coordinate with your Network Administrator or Microsoft regarding DCOM, MDAC, ADO, and Access. Only Windows 95 does not include DCOM. You may want to consider installing or upgrading to a higher version of MDAC, such as MDAC 2.5. For more information about Microsoft Data Access Components, go to MSDN or Microsoft and search for "MDAC" or "ADO".
Once you have these components, make sure they are referenced for your project, in Project References. If you need getting connected to an Access Database from AVR, take a look at our example and additional documentation that uses ADO. NOTE: These examples get installed with AVR IDE. If the links do not work for you, please install the appropriate release of AVR.
