HOWTO: Uninstall AVR & ADB

The information in this article applies to:

• ASNA Visual RPG
• Acceler8DB
• Deploy

SUMMARY:

This Information will help you with:

• Uninstalling AVR & ADB
• Moving to a previous version of AVR & ADB from a higher version

NOTE: Please coordinate with your Network Administrator if you need any further assistance with uninstalling Software from your machine.

Follow these steps to Uninstall ASNA AVR and / or ADB:

NOTE: AVR Release 4.1 is accompanied with DataGate 7.2, not Acceler8DB!

1. Remove ASNA Visual RPG 4.0 first. Uninstall AVR using Windows Add/Remove Programs:
   1. Click on START
   2. Settings
   3. Control Panel
   4. Add/Remove Programs.
2. Stop  Acceler8DB Engine (click here for detailed information on stopping the engine):

• For Windows 2000, 2003, & XP:
  1. Click on START
  2. Programs
  3. Administrative Tools
  4. Services
  5. Select Acceler8DB Server
  6. Click Stop

3. After ENDING the Acceler8DB Server, UNINSTALL Acceler8DB Engine, using the Windows Add/Remove Programs.
4. You may want to uninstall the Acceler8DB Sources Icon from the Desktop
5. After "successfully" uninstalling ADB, you will then need to manually delete the ASNA Shared Folder:
   1. Click on START
   2. Programs
   3. Windows Explorer.

   In Explorer, go to the following path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\ and delete the ASNA SHARED folder and any files within this folder.

6. Also make sure under C:\Program Files\ that you don't have a folder labeled "ASNA". If you do, delete the entire folder.
7. To make sure you do not have any AVR/ADB instances on this computer, do a FIND for [AVR*.*] or [ADB*.*] in your C: drive.
8. Delete the ASNA Program Group:
• For Windows 2000, 2003, & XP:
  1. Right Click on START
  2. Select Explorer All Users
  3. Select Programs
  4. Highlight the ASNA Product Suite
  5. Delete the ASNA Product Suite
  6. Close Explorer
9. Reboot your PC

Follow these steps if you need to move to a previous version:

NOTE: This information applies only to Versions that are on the same Release level.  For example, going from AVR Release 4.0 to AVR 4.0 or ADB Release 5.0 to 5.0.   If you would like to move from one Release level to another (For example, AVR Release 4.1 to 4.0 or DataGate Release 7.2 to ADB 5.0) you will need to follow the further below.

1. Follow the Uninstall Procedures above
2. Install the AVR / ADB Version you require

• If you need to move to AVR 4.0 from AVR 4.1, follow these steps:
  1. Follow the Uninstall Procedures above
  2. Install AVR Release 4.0 (i.e. the lower release number first)
• If you had both AVR 4.0 and AVR 4.1 installed and you need to move to a previous version of AVR 3.5 or ADB 4.7, follow these steps:

1. Follow the Uninstall Procedures above
2. Install AVR Release 3.5 (i.e. the lower release number first)
3. Install AVR Release 4.x you require
