Perform the following steps when saving a DataGate Print File or Print File Definition.
Select Save PrintFile1 or Save All from the File Menu.

When the Save Print File dialogue box appears, enter the Database name or select it from a list with the drop-down button. The Selected Database Tree will display. Enter the Library name, or select the Library from the Tree displayed. Then enter a Print File name.
Press the OK button to save the file or press Cancel button
to abort the save operation.
After the Print File is saved, the print file and it’s formats and controls
will display the same as any other file type. You can then perform any
action to the print file, as with any other file type, such as a Move, Copy,
Rename, Extract, etc.

Select Save PrintFile1 As from the File Menu, where PrintFile1 represents the name of the current print file definition.
When the Save Print File dialog as shown above displays, press the Export File button.
The Windows Save As dialog box will display. Browse to the
location the print file definition is to be saved, then enter a file
name.
Note The file type is
automatically "Print File Definition" (*.apm).
Press Save to save the .apd file, or Cancel to abort the Save As operation.
After the Print File Definition is saved, it can be opened by selecting File - Open - DataGate Print File, then select the Import button. See Opening a Print File for more information.
