Removing a Field Control

There are various ways in which you can remove a field from a format, as listed below.

Removing a Field Control

Field controls can be removed from a format in one of three ways.

  1. del (or Delete key).  Deletes the selected field(s).

  2. Edit - Delete.  Deletes the selected field(s) without being copied to the clipboard.

  3. Edit - Cut (Ctrl+X).  Deletes the selected field(s) after being copied to the clipboard.  You can now click on another format and select  Edit - Paste (or Ctrl+V).  The field(s) previously deleted will appear in the left hand corner of the format.  Drag and drop this field(s) into the desired position.

Removing Multiple Fields

You can remove multiple fields by:

  1. Click on the first field.  This field will be surrounded by 8 squares.
  2. With the field selected, press and hold the Ctrl key, then click each additional field you want to delete.  Each field you selected will be surrounded by 8 squares.  To unselect a previously selected field, click the field again and the surrounding squares will disappear.  Once your fields are selected, choose one of the delete options noted above.

Note To restore deleted fields to their original state, select Edit - Undo (or Ctrl+Z).
