Opening a Print File

Perform the following steps to open a DataGate Print File Database or DataGate Print File Definition (.apd file).

Opening a Print File

  1. From the File Menu, select File - Open - DataGate Print File from the drop-down list, as shown below.


  2. To Open an existing DataGate Print File Database:  When the Open Print File dialogue box appears, enter the Database name or select it from a list with the drop-down button. The Selected Database Tree will display.  Enter the Library name, or select the Library from the Database Tree displayed.  Then enter a Print File name.

    Note: You can also use the Recent Files: displayed in the drop-down box to select a Print File.

    Select OK to complete the operation; or Cancel to abort the operation

  3. To open an Existing Print File Definition (.apd)

    When the Open Print File dialogue box appears as shown above, select the Import button.  The Windows Open Dialog box will display. Browse to the location of the Print File Definition file and select the appropriate .apd file to be added to the solution.

    Note: The file types displayed are automatically "Print File Definition" (*.apm) files. 

    A Print File Definition is created when you select File - Save PrintFile1 As, then select the  Export File button.  See Saving a Print File for more information.
